EVs have limited utility.
Apparently, a midwestern city wanted to convert its mid-level and heavy truck fleet to all electric. Before doing so, they consulted with the local power company who told them that the fleet would require roughly the same amount of energy as the rest of the city, and the power generation and grid couldn't support it. We're just not there.
In places that have a lot of sun and you can install solar panels that generate enough electricity to charge your house and car, electric makes sense.
