Ambrose Wooden vs USC was 2005. If he knocks it down, then we certainly do win it.
One of the bigger plays that was overlooked, though, was Brady Quinn lobbing an easy toss to the fullback, Asaph Schwap. Schwap reacted too slowly, and missed an easy grab that would have given us the 1st down and iced the game. I would bet dollars to dimes that Rashan Powers-Neal would have easily made that catch (he got suspended before that game), and was a much better fullback.
If Meyer were the coach in 2005, we may have won the NC, but his sliminess would have landed us in big trouble with the NCAA, and the Golden Dome would really have been badly tarnished. The way I see it, it wouldn't have been worth it trading short term glory for long term damage.
If Randy Moss were here, Ron Powlus would have been able to show his full potential. Derek Mayes as a WR2 and Moss as a WR1 would have been unstoppable.
If either Kansas State or Oregon had not lost those late season games, we would have faced them in the NC game, and won. Alabama was simply much better than we were, and their only hiccup was that game against Texas A&M where drug boy Manziel had the game of his life.
