One of the most eminently qualified jurists in the United States, who got to 100 votes as an Appellate judge, can't get to 60 votes based solely on the fact that 40+ senators don't like his views. Seems reasonable.
Heidi Heitkamp (N.D.), Claire McCaskill (Mo.), Jon Tester (Mont.) and Joe Donnelly (Ind.). have declined to state their views. They are probably waiting for Schumer to announce that he has 40 votes for the filibuster and then they can cast symbolic votes for Gorsuch. Profiles in courage.
Dems have to hope like hell that Ginsburg doesn't kick off.
BTW, Nelson voted to confirm Gorsuch in 2006.
