For those who work out, in which of these scenarios are you getting the more beneficial workout?

Get into real boxing shape, skip rope, run, hit the heavy bag, run some more, medicine ball, etc.,

I've worked out steadily for 55 years... and running 6 miles was the most beneficial thing...

You can't really answer this without specifying the goal you're trying to achieve.

Wendler's 5-3-1 is designed around this problem of variable capacity.

A is better, but I recommend swimming - I do it almost everyday. No wear/tear & better all around

That's what I'm curious about. Wouldn't the higher heart rate mean a better workout?
-

It depends how often you're doing it and the other work you plan around it.

Swimming is better. I know this b/c my heart would explode if I tried to swim more than a few laps.

Running is the worse exercise you can do for your body, get a stationary bike, less joint issues

I have run many miles a week for many years... no joint issues. I think it is all physiological.

I do mostly elliptical, but to stay in game shape for soccer I need some road work.
