Why is it so hard, if not impossible, for liberals to admit that they are wrong?
They have all of the principles involved from both sides of the aisle and the middle saying this story about Gorsuch and Sotomoyer, Roberts and the masks is absolutley false. The NPR editor is now trying to claim that the story is true except that a better verb should have been used.
They said their reason for sticking with the story is that they asked Nina Totenberg if her story was true, and she said yes, though she now can't verify what Roberts said, or how he said it
It is absurd. NPR takes the word of their SCOTUS insider with everything to lose if she is exposed over even the Chief Justice of the SCOTUS, the supposed victim who is a member of the SCOTUS, and the alleged offender who is also a member of the SCOTUS.
Meanwhile, Nina will give no source of her story, and she has a history of unethically leaking other stories that were never corroborated (pubic hair on Coke can re: Justice Thomas). And interestingly, her blockbusters all worked against conservatives.
On Wednesday, Gorsuch and Sotomayor issued an unprecedented joint statement declaring the NPR's story "false":
"Reporting that Justice Sotomayor asked Justice Gorsuch to wear a mask surprised us. It is false. While we may sometimes disagree about the law, we are warm colleagues and friends," the statement read.
Also, Chief justice Roberts also issued this statement:
"I did not request Justice Gorsuch or any other Justice to wear a mask on the bench."
How does this reporter still have a job? Is NPR trying to be CNN with the volume turned down to a soothing whisper? Fake News outlet.
