Most voters, including myself, were willing to wait and see if Trump could...or even would...lead this nation. Few (and yes there were a few who knew exactly what he was and feared the worst) knew of what he was capable and were yet willing to give him opportunity.
But, when watching and hearing almost daily his arrogant, boastful, and lying rants coupled with his do nothing administration and shrinking from every opportunity to draw our country together, it has become evident to any unbiased critical thinker that the worst cancer facing this country is Donald Trump.
Yes, there are a plethora of critical, immediate, and abhorrent issues needing elite intellectual and unbiased answers, but none which Trump is capable or willing to address. He is simply a dolt...a lazy, ignorant, narrow minded fool of a man who has grossly shirked his responsibility to our nation.
As a political moderate conservative for 50 years, I understand what Trump has done and the damage he has done to the Republican party. His stupidity and desecration is escalating almost daily as his re-election efforts sink rapidly to zero if not there already. But there are literally millions like me who are willing to give Biden a chance to lead and heal, not because he is and excellent choice or we agree with his political agenda, but because they understand fully that he is by a huge margin the "lesser of two evils. That for two consecutive elections, both parties have offered candidates that moderates consider under this axiom is a damnation to both parties. But at least the Democrats have done better both times. History will likely judge Donald Trump and his embrace of right wing extremism as the greatest threat to our country since the Civil War.
The real question is does the democratic party realize that the ensuing landslide victory is not a deafening roar for them to lead the country to rapidly move the needle to extreme liberalism? It is instead a deafening roar to bring true leadership and genuine effort to make every effort to unite our country and return some semblance of honor to our nation's lawmakers and law enforcers. Little of that honor exists today as being a lawmaker is seen by too many as a ticket to power and wealth....and too many are willing to sell their souls for that power and wealth. Trump thought it would be easy and is paying a price he never imagined. What is terrifying is his taking his plight, the result of his choices, like a two-year old tantrum controlled child. Makes you wonder if we will ever find a leader of the ilk of FDR, Eisenhower, Lincoln, or Washington ever again.
