intentional and it's clearly intended as a message to China signaling a shift in U.S. Policy...but WHY?...here's what catches my attention...
>Many, if not all, of us see the Russia/Ukraine conflict as a 'corollary' to the tension between China and Taiwan
>Given that authoritarian Russia has gone to war to 'get what it wants'...twice...it is reasonable to suspect that authoritarian China would do the same...note also, China's recently increased pressure on Hong Kong's democratic way of life, forcing many to emigrate out of there.
>Without the world's dominant military force (USA) getting involved there would be no way to stop China from satisfying its desire to end Taiwan's democracy
>Prior to "Crimea" and this recent military 'Operation', the world was in relative 'Order'...but now things have changed dramatically...and so must U.S. Policy...toward all authoritarian nations...China included.
The 50 year policy of trusting China to be respectful of Taiwan's democracy was working until "Things Changed"...Putin came along...Xi came along...thus the need for U.S. Policy to change with the times.
