Not that Wimbush would have beaten him out if he chose to stay, but they couldn't have just given Kizer the job. He'd have had to compete again, and Wimbush looks good enough to where it wouldn't have been settled in the spring.
I think if Wimbush isn't around, Kizer stays. But, it was the natural progression for Wimbush to take over in his third year and Kizer to move on. And I think Kizer knew that before he took a snap last season.
And I've said many times before, at some point the 4-8 record is going to be a huge hang up. There is no good answer. He made an effort here, but it just sounds like crappy spin.
