Many people on bulletin boards have lamented for years that Kelly's offensive scheme is ineffective. So, I have these questions for those of you who have actual knowledge of football x's and o's:
1. Can Kelly's scheme be classified as a run-pass option scheme?
2. Is the run-pass option inherently flawed?
3. Which other top teams use the run-pass option and have effective offenses?
4. What is it about Kelly's version of the RPO that makes it seem ineffective?
5. Do the numbers support the assertion that Kelly's scheme is ineffective, or is this just a case of inflated Irish expectations?
5. Is it extremely difficult to find a quarterback who can direct the RPO?
Thank you.
