Bettis was a one of a kind talent, having legit 4.59 speed in the 40, along with an amazing initial burst of speed, while tipping the scales at almost 250 lbs.
He also had excellent hands in the passing game, and ran very good routes.
His pass blocking and run blocking made it as if we had another lineman in the backfield.
Estime seems to be able to do all of the above, and I think that by the next season, he'll be about 240 lbs of solid muscle, with maybe a tad bit more explosiveness as well. He seems very comfortable in the passing game as well, both blocking and receiving.
Seeing him plow over the defense in the 4th quarter reminded me of the old Holtz era in 1991, where opposing defenses hated having to tackle Bettis, Culver, and Tony Brooks, where Culver and Brooks were both about 220 lbs, and could hit the line of scrimmage very quickly as well.
You could see UNC's defense looking battered and bruised in that last quarter. I only wish that Estime had held onto that ball for a TD instead of fumbling it in the endzone. If we were up 52-26, we could have had more of the 2nd and 3rd stringers getting some PT.
