Weirdly enough, that loss was probably the best thing for Freeman and the program

Yep. Ray Dalio is right. Pain + Reflection = Progress

Did they need to lose to Marshall to learn that?

Apparently, or they probably wouldn’t have lost

Oh come on, that loss was ugly, and losses, unless they are close, and by close I mean within a TD

Saban had one of these his first or second year. Not implying MF is Saban. Just making the point.

Was that loss worse than any of Kelly's?

Uconn, Syracuse, and Tulsa... It did feel a lot like Tulsa though he may have been a little better.

Just for the record, UConn and the 'Cuse belong to Weis

Good call. Seems so much closer to now than back when Weis was around.

I've never gotten over that Weis era,

He did turn the program around though. We have to give him credit. Just didn't carry it through.

You're right, Kelly didn't lose to UCONN and Syracuse...so substitute Duke and South Florida...

These are both equally as bad. At least Marshall is somewhat known for Football. Duke=basketball.

They may have been flat but they at that point knew they could come back, no excuse.

Why were they moping? We played well and almost beat one of the best teams in the country?

Well would be a real stretch. We could have won, if we had any offense, Yes. Well only on D.

It's psychological, a letdown cannot be avoided,

Certainly should not have been. Were still top 10 and all goals were still achievable...

I actually had to listen to a Marshall fan after the game walking to the car talk smack.

Yeah give me a break. Horrendous loss due to being outplayed by a team with half the talent. Sick.
