I want our players to have a future after football, since you're just one injury away from having your football career being over.
Someone (athlete or "regular" student) who has a Notre Dame degree, regardless of the major, can get a good job coming right out of college if he takes advantage of ND's Career Placement Services.
Yes, even if you graduated with poor grades, as long as you're on track to get your degree, there are many companies out there that will hire a ND grad, even if his major isn't of any real use. Back in the early 90's, there were many a liberal arts major who had scraped by with barely a 2.0 GPA, who got jobs with Andersen Consulting, and had generous opportunities for promotion, etc. There were other companies as well, such as Cardinal-Newmann, etc., who hired many a history or fine arts major who was willing to undergo the proper training.
Notre Dame has one of the best job finding services available to students and alums, and having that degree all but guarantees that you'll have a future after football.
I'm not sure if CPS offers services to those who transferred out (doubtful), and it's a resource that many people would love to have.
