as I've said multiple times, our ICU Doc reports only unvaxed patients are in there. As for masks, the best ones (N95/KN95) certainly work well for medical personnel who are in high risk environments for extended periods of time...for everyone else, it is wise to limit time in public indoor places and wear a good mask...right now, the latest COVID mutation is so transmissible, the odds of getting infected are pretty high...but fortunately, if you're vaccinated and boosted, you're in good shape...btw, I'm not aware of any mask mandates right now, are you?
Hopefully by now we've all learned that when a pathogen's severity and transmissibility are high, we need to use all the tools available to protect ourselves AND OTHERS by getting vaccinated when they are approved and available, as well as masks in indoor situations that cannot be avoided, while also limiting the time spent there...every bit helps...there are no awards for getting infected and dying, or causing others to suffer.
Note that the Supreme Court back in 1905 allowed I believe Massachusetts, to mandate Smallpox vaccinations, so if the threat to public health is serious enough, similar mandates could be approved in the future.
