She is just a kid. It’s horrible, and I would free her in a second. I was merely arguing your definition as you were previously with mine.
But I do have a serious question…
Is this a case of Griner getting the book thrown at her or is it a matter of Griner not getting the special treatment usually afforded to the rich and famous (in this case a gay, BLM pro athlete with political significance because of this)?
Are other non famous Americans getting easier sentences for this? Or is Griner getting stuck in with the rest of the crowd? Aren’t all Americans getting the stiffest sentences right now?
I’m asking. If you don’t know for sure, just say so.
Regarding definitions:
Political prisoner: someone who is imprisoned, detained, or otherwise isolated for their involvement in a political activity.
Had Griner been arrested for disrespecting the National anthem….that would make her a political prisoner.
She is unjustly held, but she is not a political prisoner. She committed a crime in Russia, stupid as the law is. It simply does not meet def for a political prisoner.
