McConnell reinforced his role as the “adult in the room” for the GOP.

In contrast, McCarthy was saddled with unsuccessfully trying to babysit the unhinged crazy segment of his conference, — who thru their unruly behavior, stripped McCarthy of any meaningful seat at the table.
