A high-level summary of the current SS situation from both sides...

IMO using the debt ceiling as a weapon by the GOP is counter-productive to getting a fair agreement with such thin majorities in the House and Senate...this problem is going to need much more time to resolve, equitably.

I'm also hoping that more discussion...and legislation...is undertaken on ways to provide everyone in the U.S. the opportunity to realize investment gains to go along with SS benefits...starting such programs early and having them transportable would provide significant enhancements to those retirement needs...
