however, you did fail to read my personal comments at the end...i.e..."...even if he chooses not to run, his record will help propel the Democratic candidate."
JB beat DJT in the 2020 debates, and after last night's performance he would repeat that victory in 2024 by an even greater margin...IF he chooses to run, and IF DJT can stay out of prison and win the nomination. As for DeSantis, former GOP Strategist, Stuart Stevens noted that RDS had trouble dealing with Charlie Crist's attacks on his FLA record...Ron got easily flustered...just imagine him in the swing states where not everyone is into those culture wars.
Both DJT and RDS are totally reliant on the Electoral College...the GOP, as evidenced by Huckabee-Sanders' speech has clearly given up appealing to anyone in the middle ground so both would have to run on the MAGA platform, with no record to lean on...not sure the Reps can figure out a way to have the MAGA crowd enthusiastically support any other candidate...
Yes, I favor JB...but it's because...like it or not...he delivers...jobs, Infrastructure, Semiconductors, Inflation Reduction...and funding for programs that get my immediate attention...e.g. brand new, Advanced Nuclear Power Plants...Fuel Development and Reprocessing...hundreds of millions right now and ready to get much larger as the systems come on line...all to 'flesh-out' our energy infrastructure that needs to come on line starting in earnest around 2030...this will continue regardless of whether JB runs again, because that strategy is baked into the Democratic Platform...which BTW, the GOP has yet craft...IMO, they are far too fractured now get agreement on a cohesive message that the majority of Americans would buy.
The only way I see the GOP candidate winning is with sufficient culture war hate to hold onto their base in critical swing states...the rest of the country knows who they are (Anti-Abortion Rights...Anti-LGBTQ...Anti-Non-Whites...Anti-Non-Christians...Anti-Climate Change...Anti-NATO...but 'Pro'-Plutocracy) and as the mid-terms showed...they're not impressed.
Any 'Adult Comments'?...from anyone?
