The claim is that if you support banning military style assault rifles, you want to ban all guns. We can take the long road where I do all of the explaining, but given people's unwillingness to actually engage with the subject matter, I'm not doing that.
If you care to make your case, I think there are three reasonable questions:
1) what use case or use cases are we trying to prevent by restricting military style assault rifles?
2) what are the primary differences between an AR-15 and a .45 semi-auto pistol and/or a 12 gauge shotgun that concern you?
3) how does eliminating the concerning differences actually impact the use cases listed in question 1?
