He might overtake Gretzky in total goals, but he'll never be thought of as the GOAT. I am curious to hear the board's view on where he ranks.
I once said on here that Gretzky has a greater consensus as hockey's GOAT than any other player in any sport. MAS mocked me for this, citing cycling or ping pong or some such bullshit (he's the expert, remember). But in the world of real sports, the question of GOAT creates more controversy in every other sport than in hockey. There is only one Gretzky, and it is hard to imagine anyone overtaking him.
