if the GOP were truly concerned about the 'massive middle class', then why wasn't their 2017 Tax Bill Focused on the "Massive Middle Class", instead of the "Massively Wealthy Upper Class"?...think about that for a moment...the fact of the matter is that the bill was indeed a super break for the wealthiest among us and is both logical and consistent for the GOP to make sure that they get to keep as much of that largesse as possible...by dramatically defunding the IRS...oh, and then there's the political angle as well...the GOP was found to have been misusing "Non-Profit" organizations as conduits for campaign financing...this caused a huge uproar on their part with...wait for it...calls for investigations of none other than the IRS.
Tax Cheating and 'Dark Money' (see "Citizens United") have always been a staple of the GOP and "Faux" Conservatives (note DJT's "reluctance" to show his tax returns)...this is why Republicans fight so hard to eliminate any light that might shine on them...like IRS auditors.
