We are basically on a war footing when it comes to spending, except we spend on bullshit and nonsense. And, we have been taking on debt at WWII levels for 20 years...bipartisan disaster. I'm not sure how much more debt we can handle. And, when a real war breaks out with, say, China, how will we ratchet up spending and take on even more debt?
Don't get me wrong. I'm sure any aid we provide to Israel is a drop in the bucket for our spending, and we should at least give them as much as we are giving Hamas. More important harm is depletion of our ammo stockpiles. But if we are talking money and not ammunition, then if we don't spend it on Israel fighting terrorists, then we will probably spend it on abortions or transgender visibility, so, sure, let's give it to Israel.
