We'd all do it, right?
His country isn't going to be surrendered when the inevitable peace negotiations finally come around. You don't believe that Putin is going to march over Europe and neither does anyone else. Can we stop with the nonsense, please?
Again, contrary to popular belief, there isn't anything particularly noble about fighting a fight you cannot possibly win. Certainly not when it comes at the price of sacrificing an entire generation of young men. Actually, that discussion we had a couple weeks ago about women and self-defense is relevant here. You're out with your wife and daughter and some miscreant threatens you all with a knife. Are you going to run with your family or are you going to duke it out against the knife-wielding thug on principle? Would that be noble? When you set aside emotions, I'm not seeing it. I'm also not seeing the nobility in the sacrifice involved for that piece of land. Human history is a constant stream of land exchanging hands by force. I guess I'm the outlier here, but I wouldn't sacrifice a generation of men for, say, Arizona. It stinks, but not worth the price.
