I'll start with a few:
- Electric dishwashers. You have to "pre-wash." At that point, you may as well just hand wash and do a better job than the machine.
- Convertibles: Beyond the danger involved in an accident, I find them to be ugly. Additionally, every convertible Corvette or Mustang I see on the road is being driven by an elderly couple going a minimum of 10 mph below the speed limit.
- Flyfishing: I spent my youth logging thousands of hours trout fishing. I don't regret never spending a minute flycasting. Spincasting was more practical and more productive, with so much less hassle.
- Pies: There I said it. Not that I don't like them. I do. However, they're more hit and miss than any other baked dessert. It's much easier to cake right than a pie, and I have a lifetime of experiences to validate this. Rarely have I had a cake that I thought was inedible. In contrast, I've had numerous pies that were. They were overbaked, they had questionable ingredients, they had subpar fruit or the wrong type of apples used, and so forth. Plus, most everyone has two or three kinds of pie that they will not eat. Other than molasses, I'll eat any kind of cookie.
