...therefore, the medical community...Psychologists and Psychiatrists...the very same people who treat other maladies, such as Bipolar Disease and Depression, have carefully developed protocols for treating it...they always start with...and continue with...psychological counseling...then, oftentimes they involve reversible drug treatments like puberty blockers that can be dropped or continued, depending on the individual patient...finally, there are those...once they reach adulthood (typically many years thereafter) and continual counseling...choose to pursue gender surgery, and by no means are they anywhere near the majority of cases.
The practitioners are caring people not 'monsters'...and the patients often have biological factors in play that no amount of counseling can resolve...not unlike Bipolar Disease where every patient needs to take drugs (e.g. Lithium) in order to function in society. Just because GD is sexuality based, doesn't mean hormones and genes can't be involved...so, what your 'see' is not always what you 'get', mentally.
That being said, I'll briefly note that any trans-woman who has already gone through puberty shouldn't be competing with cisgender women...there's much more at play than just testosterone levels...and this creates a challenge for needed 'acceptance' and 'fairness'...not easy, but we should never lose sight of the goal to make GD persons' lives worth living and not terminating due to thoughtless rejection.
Climate Change...196 countries "Get It"...even China and Russia...stop pushing on a rope, Mark.
