I am not a Bowman guy. Thought his fire alarm stunt last year at Capitol was juvenile.
Whether or not one agrees with Bowman’s viewpoints about Israel’s response in Gaza, Bowman has been consistent in his denouncement of Israel’s military response in Gaza.
Politically, Bowman paid the price and was trounced by a moderate Democrat.
Gaza is extremely complex, balancing Israel’s security interests re Hamas vs humanitarian interests vs long game strategic interests. Politics ought not be the driver in formulating US policy. Nevertheless, democracy can be informative.
Bowman took an early and unpopular position re Gaza. Hard to know if Bowman was generally too progressive across the board for his district (with or without Gaza), but one has to admire Bowman’s political courage in taking a stance and not wavering.
