Thankfully never.

As a Cardinals fan, I suffered through seasons like 1990 and the lean-spending Dal Maxvill years pre-LaRussa in the early '90s. But nothing compared to the White Sox this year.

I had family members who were long-suffering Braves fans (the step-side of my family has always been in Georgia). They were in the same general category of bad as your team this season, and it went on for like 6 seasons. I would imagine they feel your pain. Maybe you can argue that they were "building" towards their big 14-year run that started in 1991, but I don't care who you are, no one saw that coming. They didn't think there was any hope in sight.
