All eyes on Gov DeWine

Who will he pick to replace JD?

Three leading names…
Current Lt Gov Jon Husted - would be a good pick, but I think Husted is set on running to replace the term limited DeWine
Jane Timken - the Timken name is powerful in NE OH…would be OH’s first female Senator. Trump likes her.
Vivek Ramaswamy - he may well run for OH Gov if he is not picked. Might not be available if he is tabbed to join the Trump admin. Buds with JD.

Whoever is picked will be campaigning non-stop. There will be a special election in 2026 and then the seat will be up for re-election in 2028. DeWine has said it is vital to him that he pick someone who can win in 2028.

Personally I hope it is Vivek, but I’d rather he be our next Governor rather than Senator.
