You can't subsidize businesses by importing cheap labor when you have citizens who can't make ends meet to afford housing, food, healthcare, etc. It's a recipe for societal collapse. Working in the slaughterhouse used to be a good paying working class job with good benefits. And it's not like giant meat conglomerate passes the labor and benefit savings on to the consumer.
