of that term in the post just prior...here it is again...
------------------
Ad hominem (Latin for 'to the person'), short for argumentum ad hominem, refers to several types of arguments that are usually fallacious. Often currently this term refers to a rhetorical strategy where the speaker attacks the character, motive, or some other attribute of the person making an argument rather than the substance of the argument itself. This avoids genuine debate by creating a diversion often using a totally irrelevant, but often highly charged attribute of the opponent's character or background.

In this case the issue is "DEI" and I've provided substantial evidence of our Alma Mater's firm Commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion...yet you oppose it without a single reference to all the reasoning that the CSC's, Administration and Board of Trustees have expressed in reaching their decision...instead you clearly state that your argument is with ME ("Perhaps Tyrone is trying to sabotage ND fund raising")...that, Ned, is a classic example of an "Ad Hominem", as explained above.
Oh, and Trump's Criminal behavior, Malignant Narcissism, Sexual Assaults, etc. are justification enough for singling him out for criticism...wouldn't you agree?...good Lord, you are really stretching for a way out. ;-)
