but it's important enough that representatives of both parties are holding hearings on it, due to the fact that the objective of the event was to thwart our democratic process.
As for your reference to the violence surrounding the George Floyd protests in D.C., while always unlawful, this one was caused by outrage over the unnecessary murder of a black man by a rogue white police officer...not even in the same 'zip code' as what transpired on Jan. 6th...there was no intent to overthrow our democracy...a better comparison of this event would be the riots that occurred after Martin Luther King's assassination...again, unlawful...but understandable.
BTW, the actual BLM demonstration that followed was peaceful...up until Trump and Barr used excessive means to stop the criticism.
