It has nothing to do with Trump picking Hegseth. Trump nominated Rubio for Secretary of Defense. Unanimously confirmed. Trump’s nominee for CIA received 75 votes.

Senator Ernst is going to regret her vote last might on Hegseth. She caved to Trump’s bullying.

This confirmation will boomerang against those who voted yes.

Major cabinet appointments ought not be political. The nominees should be highly qualified and easily confirmed.
