...those People are largely undocumented immigrants...roughly one-half of all CA Agricultural workers...since all U.S. hospital ERs take patients regardless of citizenship status...and it's the most expensive way to provide care, it makes sense to offer 'Medi-Cal" insurance to undocumented immigrants so they don't need to clog up ERs...and...be healthier workers with healthier families...never mind being the right thing to do for people who already pay into our Social Security and Medicare Plans without being able to access them.
It's absolutely amazing how selfish some people can be...and oblivious to their own interests...to wit...food prices would skyrocket across the country if we didn't have 'undocumented immigrants' working in our agricultural industries...be careful what you wish for...or vote for.

Today, so large is the Californian agricultural economy, it ranks as the world’s fifth largest supplier of food. In 2024, the average Californian farmer feeds 155 people, up from just 19 people per farmer in 1940. Not surprisingly that makes it the powerhouse of U.S. agriculture, growing more than 400 commodity crops and generating 11 percent of U.S. agricultural value.
It supplies one-third of U.S. vegetables and three-quarters of its fruit and nuts. California is the country’s biggest milk producer, producing nearly 20 percent of the nation’s milk. And of all crops grown in the U.S., 19 of them – including almonds, pistachios, walnuts, raisins, olives, plums and table grapes – are grown only in California.
