In 2023, it turns out a company I was doing some independent consulting for mis-calculated my compensation on my 1099. I noticed it when running some numbers of my 2024 taxes, and things did not add up. While they acknowledged the error, and sent me a new form, I cannot find anywhere an option to submit a corrected 1099 for the previous year. I should have paid more attention when doing my taxes last year, but as of now it appears I am going to be screwed out of about $2,000.
Is there a way to correct last years income on a 1099 to get that money I overpaid last year?
