Ukraine's minerals are nothing comparing to Russia's. It doesn't make sense that Russia wants more minerals when their current minerals can't be mined due to their limited resources of engineering & technology and labor. Also, mining minerals is a thin-margin profit business. It won't make much money. So, if you have enough minerals in your land, why bother to take others ?
