Pope Francis has approved a new three-year reform process for the Catholic Church, sending a strong signal he plans to continue in the post despite spending a month in hospital battling pneumonia.

The Vatican announced on Saturday that the 88-year-old pope had signed off on the reform plans from Rome’s Gemelli hospital earlier in the week. Francis has been hospitalized since February 14, his longest since his election as pope.

Reforms on the table include how to give greater roles to women in the Catholic Church, including ordaining them as deacons, and the greater inclusion of laity in governance and decision making.

Sounds reminiscent of Notre Dame deciding to go "Co-Ed" and authorizing a Lay Board of Trustees...about time for the Vatican.

Note:...there's even talk about greater inclusion of LGBTQ Catholics...
