It's possible that Hegseth is incompetent - e.g., the unsecure text chain. But it's also entirely possible that the things we're witnessing are the result of interested actors attempting to sabotage a restructuring.

Until the evidence is overwhelming and presented by a neutral source rather than the party apparatchik, the working assumption of rational people has to be that this is just part of the response to Trump 2.0.
