Certainly, the presidents of the university have not always followed this. In fact, as described in the article, a few of those presidents didn't even think that this was possible (beating out Oxford, Cambridge, Harvard, and Duke in academic excellence within the field of theology from an faithful catholic perspective).. There was even an unsuccessful effort to cut the Theology dept in 2015 as it grew more orthodox.
But while the head leadership of the University may differ, the heart and soul of the school and her alumni remain unapologetically true to standard catholicism. My daughter who graduates this Spring confirms this has been her experience as well on campus.
