Trump budget proposal. Some good ideas and some bad, but if it's a priority, states can prioritize.

The draft of President Trump's budget plan for FY 2026, which will be unveiled next week, calls for deep cuts in programs related to child care [good], health research [TBD], education [excellent], housing [good], community development [good] and the elderly [bad].

On health research, the budget plan would cut $8.8 billion from NIH [good]. It would totally eliminate funding for the National Institute of Minority Health and Health Disparities [excellent]. It would halve funding for CDC [good]. It also would eliminate the National Institute for Occupational Safety & Health [good in parts] and the Public Health Emergency Preparedness program [good in parts]. It also would eliminate a $56 million Narcan grant program that distributes doses of the drug and trains emergency responders [bad].

Imposing corporate abuse, neglect and greed on deserving victims.

        • Indeed. Trump just did exactly this with the WHI research. Libs call it backtracking, but - BaronVonZemo - 2:18pm 4/26/25

            • Fair point. Quite a few given how widespread DEI discrimination was implemented by BidenHandlers. [NT] - BaronVonZemo - 4:50pm 4/26/25
