I'm guessing these are very good;
As a nation we are very fractured along so many different lines.
Worse yet, unlike in the Reagan/O'Neil and Clinton/Gingrich eras... there is not the slightest whiff of any bipartisanship in the air.
Even though the Republicans enjoy majorities in both chambers in Congress, these are ultra-thin and seriously diminished by the widely varied "concerns" in different regions of the country.
On the edges we have some Republicans for whom the minimizing the deficit and debt represent bright red lines while for other Republicans the protection of Medicaid and a huge SALT deduction are a sine qua non.for any reconciliation bill to get passed.
These are mutually exclusive goals.
And frankly, I don't see a compromise any time soon.
This would mean a tanking of the economy due to a default massive tax increase, a Democrat sweep in the midterms and two years of impeachment hearings against a very lame duck Donald Trump.
God I hope I'm wrong. This is too damn dismal.
