Positives: Trump has appeared to be more “hard lined” with Russia. Threatening further sanctions is a step in the right direction. Open dialogue with Putin is a good thing. The next step will be to get Zelensky and Putin to meet.
Negatives: Trump shouldn’t kowtow to Putin. Trump needs to get it through Putin’s head that he can’t compete militarily against the US and NATO. Trump should have never claimed that he’d end the war within 24 hours of taking office.
