As for PSA screening, Conor is absolutely right when he says it should start early on...I then shared some information that is not widely known and seems incongruent...i.e. PSA screening should stop after a certain age (~70-75 yrs). Btw, I know a person who got tested at a later age...got an elevated reading...was treated...developed Sepsis (a not uncommon result)...the Sepsis severely damaged his Kidneys...and now has a short life time with or without Dialysis. It could be argued that no screening and treatment might have extended his life and the Quality of it. Hopefully, this awareness of Why screening isn't recommended after a certain age will be of help to others...including you. No apology needed.
