were able to appeal...so it was easy pickings for DOGE and DOJ. The FOX account is a bit sketchy so it's not clear how much bribe money was involved, or more importantly, whether or not the USAID assistance was delivered and how valuable it was.
As for USAID in total...the agency has been a part of U.S. "Soft Power" and humanitarian aid for many decades under both parties, in large measure because of the many, many lives saved (see link).
Oddly enough, a USAID Watchdog warns that Trump's dismantling of vetting at USAID, means US money could reach terror groups (note that DJT has a habit of getting rid of Inspectors General).
