Which side is it that tells adherents that they should cut family and friends out of their lives who are MAGA? Which side consistently preaches that those on the opposite side are evil? Which side consistently preaches doomsday/end of days scenarios? Which side participated in shielding the reality of its leader's condition from the public for years and denounced anyone who even questioned the fitness of the leader? Which side has devised its own, weird lexicon that is incomprehensible to normal, average people. and takes pride in the fact that those outside of the organization don't understand these words? Which side focuses upon inculcating children with ideas at odds with traditional norms and customs?

These are all examples of behaviors characteristic of cults. If you subtracted "MAGA" from my first line and offered these descriptions to someone 20 years ago, that person might have surmised that I was describing Scientology or the Children of God.
