……I was listening to a forum of national debt experts (and I believe their observations are ones that Trump is aware of as well)…..
The deficit is now so large that it is beyond the point where you can increase taxes and solve it. Further, we can no longer just “tighten our belts” enough to address it either. Doing both of these things together will help but still not resolve the problem AND it would shrink our economy which would further the deficit problem on its’ own right.
They concluded that the solution to the deficit problem now has only one possible solution (and Ronald Reagan would be proud). We need to supercharge the economy and grow our way out of the hole….with increased production and workers working, the amount of taxes taken in will be huge. Added to this will be increased intake from fair tariffs from new trade negotiations (these intakes of revenue have not been used in deficit calculations before, but they are real). We also need to pair these measures with cuts to waste, fraud, and abuse as well as try to resolve the illegal immigration problem left by Biden - borders are closed now under Trump, but the costs of 21 million to entitlements is massive and unavoidable (it is absurd and laughable to claim that we somehow come out ahead economically from this).
Trump knows if the budget deal doesn’t pass, then taxes go back up on corps who will again leave the US and shrink our economy. Passing the bill is just the start. Some of the spending in this bill is disgusting (SALT tax deductions especially), but they are required to get the thing passed.
