That's not the problem. The problem is it doesn't cut everything else.

As far as the poor, why does no one think about the future poor? Only current poor count, so we destroy our nation with debt, the future poor be damned.

This is how I know people aren't serious about an issue.

For example, if someone is serious about climate change, they would try to balance the budget so that our nation could help address the issue for the next 100-200 years. But, they don't. They are quite willing to destroy the nation with debt (a nation with the most ability to address the issue) for a little more power for their party and donors right now, the future be damned.
