There are many health issues to address, and this is certainly one of them. But it is one of them that has received a disproportionately large amount of the money in both research and assistance. There are political reasons for that.
AID's doesn't affect just LGBTQ - and in Africa this is especially so, but it does affect a markedly higher proportion of LGBTQ which is the most powerful interest group in the Democrat Party.
The Left would not be screaming the same if this were money going to the assistance of people with Down's Syndrome.
This cut to PEPFAR "gouges the liberal's ox", and they care most about their own political issues....their lip service to helping others is simply because it serves their interest.
