follow the Muslim faith...nor have they read any objective articles or books about Islam and so they are easily influenced against literally anyone who is Muslim. As with you, I have a friend who is Muslim, from Iran...he has a PhD in Chemistry and upon retirement he joined the American Red Cross...flying to wherever in the U.S. there is a disaster to help organize and coordinate aid to thousands of people...many of which are probably extremely biased against Muslims. This needs to stop...judge people on what they actually DO...not on how they pray to the God of all of us.
Another experience my wife and I had was in working with Catholic Charities (managed by a Protestant) to organize people within our own Catholic parish to help an Afghan Muslim family get settled in a Bay Area apartment...upon completion we were treated by that family to a dinner that certainly had to impact their disposable income...and months later we were invited to their daughter's Muslim wedding (got Henna 'decorations on our hands ;-)) and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience...an example of our "Shared Humanity"
