Focus on communal traits:
They strongly identify with and seek validation for traits like kindness, empathy, generosity, and moral goodness.
Self-perception of superiority:
They believe they are exceptionally virtuous and morally superior to others, often viewing themselves as "saints".
Need for admiration for communal traits:
They crave praise and recognition for their perceived communal qualities, rather than for achievements or status.
Discrepancy between self-perception and behavior:
While they may project an image of being highly communal, their actual behavior may not always reflect this, and they may lack empathy or exploit others.
Superficiality:
Communal narcissism can be seen as a superficial manifestation of grandiose narcissism, where the focus is on communal attributes rather than agentic ones (like intelligence or power).
