Food was a right for Soviet citizens. Result: mostly empty store shelves at best, the holodomor at worst.
Same with housing...everyone gets shitholes to live in because no one builds/maintains nice free housing, ever. Rent restrictions are for morons because they guarantee shitty housing. The government historically exempts itself from requirements it imposes on private businesses.
Worst thing for this country would be to implement your policies.
The history of US housing projects and rent controls should be taught in high school. It is not. Having a "right" to the labor of another is slavery, however it is pitched to people who don't study history. And slaves don't get good quarters or good meals.
