...Putin is there because of one reason (and Trump knew it):
Trump's massive tariff on India was a huge kick to the balls of Putin.
The EU has been pretending to be pro Ukraine for a long time, but they are actually ambivalent because they have been using Russian oil.
The EU stopped buying Russian oil which went far to funding Putin's war effort - this was part of the EU's deal with the US that Trump brokered.
Pre invasion, India was importing less than 1% of its' oil from Russia.
Now, India is buying 33% of its' oil from Russia.
India has been taking this oil and then turning around and selling it to the EU (and others) at a profit for itself....and at the same time helping Putin with cash influx.
It was in large part this reason that Trump just imposed a 25% US tariff on India meant to hit them financially more than they were making off of playing Russian oil middle man to get them to stop.
India told Putin - hey man, business is business. Sorry.
Magically, Putin agrees to go to US soil to talk peace.
Everyone on Earth should be skeptical of anything Putin says or does. Trump knows this, especially now.
Still it is a chance for peace. AND THIS WAS MEANT TO START A POSSIBLE PROCESS IN THAT REGARD.
Even the wildest MAGA optimist didn't expect a deal on this very day.
But unsurprisingly, the crazy TDS'ers were ready to declare the the Trump effort a failure, the second that there wasn't a deal that very day.
Oh brother.
Give it time.
Trust nothing Putin says about a deal - as Trump said today..."There's not a deal until there is a deal" This was after Putin tried to imply to Trump that the negotiations went well.
Modify what Ronald Reagan famously said when it comes to Russia: "DON'T trust, but verify".
Still, a deal can happen. It will depend on how much this tariff action is hurting Putin. It might not be enough, but at least Trump is trying for peace unlike his predecessor who facilitated this mess.
